In the name of the father and of the Sonne and of the holy ghost Amen. The seven and twentieth dae of Maye in the yeare of our lorde god one thousand sixe hundredth twentie and one I Robte Foxe of Howbrook in the p’she of Staveley and countie of Derb’ husband’ being at this present tyme sicke of bodie But (thankes be to god therefore) of a good and p’fect memorie doe ordaine and make this my last will and testament in manour and forme following first and principallie I bequeath my soule to almighty god maker and redeemer thereof and my bodie to be buried in the p’ish church ground of Staveley aforesaid And as touching that small quantitie of goods and Chattells which it hath pleased god to bestowe upon me the’fore I doe give and bequeath in manner following And first I give to John Foxe and Robert Foxe my two sonnes to either of them twelve pence in full satisfaction of their child partes or portions The residue of my goods and cattells (my debts and funerall expenses discharged) I give and bequeath to Marie Foxe my Wife w’ch Marie I make and ordaine sole executrix of this my last will and testament and I make supervisor hereof Robte Turner of the hagge in the p’she of Staveley aforesaid
