Last Will and Testatment of John Billam of Mosborough, yeoman (1628)

In the name of god Amen Anno Dom 1628 the ninth day of February I John Byllam of Mosbrough in the p’ish of Eckington And county of Darby yoman sick in body but of good and p’fect remembrance thanks be given to Almightye god I do make this my last will and Testament in the manner and forme followinge ….. ….. I give and bequeth my soule into the hands of Almightye god And my body to be buryed in the Church or Churchyard of Eckington at the discretion of my Executors And the Church to have the accustomed Dutyes and fees for the same Item I give and bequeath unto my thre Eldest Daughters which now at the day or the date of this my present will and Testament are married Wyves that ys to to say my Daughters Ellin Elizabeth and Grace to each of them twenty markes within thre months next after my decease Item I give unto George Byrkes John Byrkes and Grace Byrke the children of my sonne in law George Byrkes to each of them one ewe and one lamb Item I give unto Anne Glossop and George Glossop the children of my sonne in law James Glossop to each of them one ewe and one lamb Item I give to my god children to every one of them six pence Item I give and bequeath to my two youngest Children that ys to say to my sonne Thomas Byllam and my Daughter Dorothie Byllam to eyther of them fyftie poundes And yt is my desire that during the minority of my sayd two children Thomas and Dorothie Grace my Wiffe and George my eldest sonne have the support and government of them and their portions Item I give and bequeth unto my sonne John Byllam that my howse in East Mosbrough now in the Tenure and occupation of Thomas Turner with all the land there unto belonging And also I give unto my sayd sonne the Some of Twentye poundes of good and lawfull english money to be paid unto him at the tyme as he shall accomplish the age of one and twentie yeares And yt ys my will that in the decent tyme my sayd Wyffe and my said sonne George have the support and government of him and his sayd portion. Item these my legacyes and bequests together with my funerall exenses being discharged the Residue and Remaynder of all my goodes and chattells moveable and immoveable Reall and personal I give and bequeath unto Grace my wiff and George Byllam my sonne to be equallie devided betwixt them And I do hereby make them the sayd Grace my Wiffe and George my sonne the Joynt and full Executors of this my last will and Testament In Wittnesse whereof I the said John Byllam have hereunto putt my hand and Seale the day and yeare first above written
