I William Staniforth of Mosbrough More side in ye parish of Eckington and County of Derby – yeoman being weak of body, but of sound and perfect memory, praise be therefor given to Almighty God, do …… and ordain this my present last will testam’t in manor and forme following (that is to say) first and principally commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God, hoping through the merits Death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ to have full and free pardon and foregiveness of all my Sins and to inherit everlasting light: And my body I comitt to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion of my Execut’s hereafter named; And as touching the disposition of all such temporall Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth; first I will that my debts and funerall charges shall be paid and discharged; Item I give unto my Grandchild John Greaves twenty pounds to be paid unto his father Edmund Greaves within a twelve month after my decease to be put forth for his son Greaves; Item I give unto my grand child Mary Greaves within a month after my decease to be paid twenty poundes to be paid to her father Edmund Greaves to be put forth for her; Item I give unto my grandchilde Sarah Greaves twenty poundes within a twelve month after my decease to be paid to her father Edmund Greaves to put forth for his daughter Sarah Greaves; Item, I give unto my Grandchild John Parker forty pounds to be paid to my kinsman Richard Cowley of Renishaw within a twelve month after my decease to be put forth for him; Item I give unto my grandchilde Elizabeth Parker twenty pounds to be paid to my kinsman Richard Cowley within a twelve Month after my decease to be put forth for her; Item all my Lynons in general with two silver spoons and a silver cup I give unto my daughters Sarah Greaves and Mary Parker to be equally divided between them after my decease; All the rest and residue of my personal effects Goods and Chattells whatsoever I do give and bequeath unto my Son Samuel Staniforth, and I do make him sole Executor of this my last will and testam’t; And I do hereby revoke and disanul and make void all former wills and testam’ts by me heretofore made and do publish and declare this to be my last will and testament; In Witness whereof I the said William Staniforth have hereunto set my hand and seal ye sixteenth day of June in ye first year of ye Reign of our Sovereign Lady Queen Anne over England etc. Ano: Dom: 1702.
