Last Will and Testament of William Rippon of Mosborough Moorside, Hatter (1810)

This is the Last Will and Testament of me William Rippon of Mosbrough moor side in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Hatter whereby I give and bequeath unto my two Brothers in Law George Hutton and Thomas Hutton both of Mosbrough in the said County of Derby, Sickle makers their Heirs Executors administrators and Assigns and whom I appoint Executors of this my Will all Freehold and Copyhold Estates lying and being, in the said Parish of Eckington which said Copyhold Estate I have Surrendered to the use of this my Will upon the Trusts and to and for the uses intents and purposes hereinafter declared of and Concerning the same and all other my Estates and Effects whatsoever and wheresoever or of what nature kind or quality soever the same may be Except such as is hereinafter excepted upon Trust that the said George Hutton and Thomas Hutton and the Survivor of them and the Executors and administrators of such Survivor do and shall pay all my just Debts which I shall have at my decease together with any Funeral Expenses and their Expenses of proving this my Will and in order to enable my said Executors to make the said Payments I will order and direct that they shall sell and dispose of such of my freehold or Copyhold House or Houses as my beloved Wife shall think most meet Then upon Further Trust that they the said George Hutton and Thomas Hutton and the Survivor of them and their Heirs Executors and administrators and Assigns or such Survivor do and shall let all such Freehold and Copyhold Houses and premises from time to time as shall not be sold and the profits arising from such letting or lettings shall be paid to my said Wife when she shall become due and such of my freehold and Copyhold Houses as shall have been sold and the money not wholly expended shall be paid to my said Wife in such proportion as she shall thin proper And if there shall not have been sufficient …. to maintain my said Wife and such younger Children till they become of age of Twenty One years Then my said Trustees shall sell such other House as my said Wife shall think proper and so as my said Wife shall not want during her natural life from and after the death of my said Wife upon further Trust that the said George Hutton and Thomas Hutton or the Survivor of them their Heirs Executors or Administrators shall sell and dispose of all and every my personal Estate and Effects except the Shop tools which I give and devise to my son Richard Rippon and also all any Freehold and Copyhold House and premises which shall not have been sold if any and the money thence arising shall be divided amongst my Children namely William Richard Annie and Reuben Share and share alike but if any of my said Children should happen to die before such share can be divided then his her or their share or shares shall be divided amongst the Survivor of them share and share alike and for the facilitating of the sale of all or any of my Freehold or Copyhold Estates I do hereby declare that the Receipt of the said George Hutton and Thomas Hutton or the Survivor of them or the Heirs Executors Administrators or Assigns of such Survivor shall from time to time be good and sufficient discharge to the purchaser of my freehold or Copyhold Estates and his her or their respective Heirs Executors or Administrators for such purchase as shall be therein acknowledged to be received and such purchaser or purchasers his her or their respective Heirs Executors and administrators or any them shall not be afterwards answerable or accountable for any loss of such purchase money or any part thereof and I do hereby revoke all former and all other Wills heretofore by me made In Witness whereof I the said William Rippon the Testator have wrote my name set my Seal this Twelfth day of May in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and Ten.
