Last Will and Testament of William Hobson of Mosbrough, yeoman (1752)

In the Name of God Amen the Third Day of July In the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Two I William Hobson of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Yeoman being in indifferent Health of Body and perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for it therefore calling unto mind the uncertainty of this Life and that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament first and principally I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it hoping through the Merit and mediation of Jesus Christ to receive free pardon and remission of my sins and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buryed at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I Give and Dispose of the same in the following manner and form First of all I Give and Bequeath after my decease unto my beloved Wife Hannah Hobson the Interest of all my Mortgages Bonds Bills and Notes to be paid to her Yearly and every Year During the Terme of her Natural Life she the said Hannah Hobson paying unto my beloved son William Hobson the sum of Three Pounds a Year yearly and every Year During the Terme of his Natural Life and my Will and mind is that my beloved Wife Hannah Hobson shall have a Bed Bedstocks and all other Furniture belonging which she pleases and other Household Goods and Necessaries to the Value of Two Pounds where she pleaseth out of my Personal Estate Also I Give and Bequeath unto my beloved son William Hobson all my Field Lande and all the remainder of my Personal Estate and the good Will of the Farme to him and his Heirs for ever and also my House wherein I now dwell Barns Stable Cowhouses Outhouse Fold Orchard Garden Croft Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging after the decease of my beloved Wife Hannah Hobson I Give and Bequeath them unto my beloved son William Hobson and his Heirs for ever And further my will and mind is that my said son William Hobson and his Heirs shall find and provide sufficient and Enough of Milk and Butter to and for my beloved wife Hannah Hobson without the payment of any Money for it during the Terme of her Natural Life Also I Nominate Constitute and Appoint my beloved son William Hobson sole and only Executor of this my last Will and Testament utterly revoking and disanulling all other and former Will or Wills heretofore by me made and no other but this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Day and Year above Written
