Last Will and Testament of William Couley of Mosborough, yeoman (1772)

In the Name of God Amen the Nineteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Two I William Couley of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Yeoman being in good health of body and of sound mind and perfect memory thanks be to God for it and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die I do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament First and principally I Give and recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it hoping through the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ to receive free pardon and remission of my sins and my Body I commit to the Earth to be decently Buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as touching such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this Life I Give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. First of all I Give and Bequeath after my decease unto my loving Wife Elizabeth Couley Two Houses a Cowhouse a Smithy a Fold Garden Orchard and Croft adjoining containing by Estimation Half an Acre to the same more or less with all the Premises and Appurtenances thereto belonging now Situate Standing lying and being at Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby and now in the possession of Thomas Booth and Jonathan Booth for the Term of her Natural Life Also I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Wife Elizabeth Couley all my Personal Estate Household Goods Goods Quick and Dead Money Securities for Money Cattle Chattel and Chattels whatsoever mine is she paying my Just Debts and Funeral charges I also Nominate Constitute and appoint my loving Elizabeth Couley sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do also hereby revoke and disannul all other and former Will or Wills heretofore by me made and no other but this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Day and year above written.
