In the Name of God Amen I William Billam of Mosbrough of the parish of Eckington in the County of Derby being weak in Body but of a Sound and perfect understanding and Memory praised be Almighty God for the same And Calling to Mind the uncertainty of this Mortal Life Do make Constitute and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following First and principally I Recommend my Soul in the hands of Almighty God hoping through the Merits Mediation Death and Passion of my Blessed Saviour Jesus Christ to receive full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting Life And my Body I Commit to the Earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and as touching such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I Give and Dispose thereof as follows First I Give and devise to my kinsman George Hewitt of Sutton in the County of Derby aforesaid my Messuage wherein I now dwell with all and Singular the Outhouses Edifices Buildings Barns Stables Yard Gardens and Appurtenances thereto belonging together with all and Singular my Lands Tenements and hereditaments as well freehold and Copyhold lying and being in Mosborough Quarter within the parish of Eckington aforesaid requiring him the said George Hewett to pay unto my four Brothers in Law Samuel Outram Henry Scholey John Rogers and William Bright the full sum of Fifty pounds Each of Lawful Money of England Twelve Months after my decease And if any of my Brothers shall happen to Die before his Legacy become due and payable I then Give and Devise this Fifty pounds to his Children. I also Give and Devise to Joseph Hewett of Beighton Hatmaker my Two Dwelling Houses in Eckington now in the occupation of William Armitage and Samuel Holines with all and Singular the Outhouses Barns Orchards Gardens Yards premises and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging I Also Give and devise to my Heire Elizabeth Calton the full sum of Ten pounds of Lawful Money of England to be paid her by my Executor Twelve Months after my decease I also Give and Devise to the Son and Daughter of Thomas Hewett late of Adwick the full sum of Ten Pounds each to be paid them Twelve Months after my Decease. I Also Give and Devise to Martha the Sister of William Hewett now living at Mansfield Twenty pounds to be paid her Twelve Months after my decease I also Give to Robert Staniforth of Hackenthorpe the yearly sum of Twenty Shillings to be laid out in apparel for him at the discretion of my Executor during his Natural Life and at his decease I Give the principal Sum of Twenty pounds to be paid and divided amongst his Children by even and Equal portions I Also Give and Devise to the Children of William Staniforth late of Biswell(?) Twenty pounds to be divided amongst them by equal portions Twelve Months after my decease I also Give to the Children of Samuel Staniforth late of Sheffield Ten Pounds to be divided amongst them by equal portions Twelve months after my decease I also Give to the Children of my kinsman Thomas Staniforth Ten Pounds to be paid and divided amongst them by Equal portions twelve months after my decease I Also Give to the Children of Alice Sewell Ten pounds to be divided amongst them in manner as aforesaid twelve months after my decease I Also Give and Devise to the poor Inhabitants of Mosbrough Quarter the yearly Sum of Forty Shillings to be paid them every year by my Executor and his heirs or Assigns for ever and to be distributed at the discretion of him his heirs or assigns together with the Overseer of the Poor of the said Quarter for the time being upon the Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary for ever and upon default of payment of this said Forty shillings as aforesaid I Give the Annual yearly Rent of a certain Close lying with the parish of Beighton known by the name of Cliffe Close and upon such default as aforesaid I do hereby authorise and Impower the overseer of poor of Mosbrough for the time being to demand and Receive the Rents for this said Cliffe Close and that he together with my Executor and his heirs and assigns for …. distribute the same upon the said day and to such Uses as aforesaid I Also Give to the Daughter of my Four Sisters in Law Ann Outram Mary Scholey Sarah Rodgers and Jane Bright such Linnon as shall be found in my house marked with mine and my late Dear Wifes Names or with either of my late Dear Daughters Names to be equally Divided amongst them share and share alike Lastly I give and devise all that my Messuage or Messuages Lands and Tenements in Eckington now in the occupation of Thomas Rodger or his undertenants Also all those my Four Closes Lying in Drakehouse Lane within the parish of Beighton now in the occupation of Joshua Hancock together with all the Rest and Residue of both my real and personal Estate whatsoever or wheresoever to be found wholly and absolutely to my kinsman William Hewett of Beighton whom I do hereby ordain Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said William Billam have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this sixteenth day October in the year of our Lord one Thousand Seven Hundred and Forty Six
