This is the last Will and Testament of me Thomas Creswick of Mosbrough in the Parish of Eckington and County of Derby Scythe smith made this Twenty Sixth Day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Forty One and revockeing all former Wills by me made I Give and Devise unto my Eldest son Thomas Creswick all that my Customary Tenement or Dwellinghouse standing at Ridgeway in the Parish of Eckington and the Croft adjoining and belonging thereto Also those my freehold Closes or parcells of Land lying there called the Long Meadow the Spring Field the Stony Field the Winney Field and the Drabble Meadow with their and every of their appurtenances as the same premises as well copyhold are now in the tenure or occupation of Joseph Hutton or his Assigns and also all my Customary or Copyhold lands lying in the Townfield of Mosbrough aforesaid called the Church field to have and to hold all and singular the sd. Premises with their appurtenances unto my sd Son Thomas Creswick his heires and assigns forever subject to and chargeable with the payment of one Annuity or yearly Rent Charge of four pounds unto my Sister Elizabeth ……… for her life which was by the will of my late Uncle Thomas Kent decd charged upon the said premises and other lands and tenaments therein devised to me and my nieces the said annuity of four pounds to be paid by my son unto my Sister in such manner as is by the sd. Will directed to be paid her And I Give and bequeath unto my sd. Son all my Smithy Tools and Utensils whatsoever Item I give and devise unto my youngest Son Nathaniel and to my Daughter Mary all other my Messuages Lands Tenements and hereditaments whatsoever and wheresoever To hold to them their several heires and Assigns forever as Tenants in Common and not as Joint tenants chargeable nevertheless with the payment of all my just Debts and funeral Expenses And I Give and bequeath unto my loving Wife the use wearing and enjoyment of all my Household Goods and furniture whatsoever for and during the Term of her life with full power and Authority for her my sd. Wife either in her lifetime or in and by her last Will and Testament to Give and Dispose of the same unto and amongst such of my Children as she shall think fit but to no other person or persons whatsoever All the Rest and Residue of my Goods and Chattles Wares Merchandizes Moneys Money at Interest Debts Arrears of Debt Stock in Trade and the Surplus and Residue of my whole personal Estate I give and bequeath unto my Son and Daughter Nathaniel Creswick and Mary Creswick their Executors and Admors’ To be equally divided between them share and share alike – subject nevertheless to the payment of all my just Debts and funeral Expenses And I appoint my said son Nathaniel and Daughter Mary Executor and Executrix of this my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and Seal the Day and Year within written
