In the Name of God Amen I Thomas Booth of Mosbrough Moorside in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Sicklemaker being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory praise be given to Almighty God for the same Therefore considering the frailty and uncertainty of this human life do make and ordain this my last will and Testament in manner and form following First and principally I Commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator who gave it hoping through the merits and meditations of the death and passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to obtain free pardon and remisson of my sins and my body I commit to the Earth from whence it came to be decently buried at the disrcetion of my Executors hereafter named and as for my temporal and wordly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God of his goodness to bless me with I give and dispose thereof as followeth First my Will and mind is that my just debts legacies and funeral charges shall be discharged and paid by my Executors Imprimis I give and bequeath after my decease unto Martha Booth my dear beloved Wife all my Close or parcel of land commonly called or known by the name of Four Lands containing by estimation three acres or thereabouts be the same more or less between the lands of Widow French East and Mr Pedley West Near Mosborough Moor and likewise all my piece or parcel of land commonly called or known by the name of singils with the Pingle adjoining between Mr Westneys East and Mr Staniforth West containing by estimation two acres or thereabouts be the same more or less all those pieces or parcels of land I give to my dear beloved Wife during her natural life and at her decease my Will and mind is that the said pieces or parcels of land above mentioned shall be equally divided betwixt my two nieces Viz Martha Taylor Wife of William Taylor of Rotherham and Rachael French Wife of James French of Mosborough likewise I give and bequeath to my dear beloved Wife Martha Booth all those three sittings in a seat in the South Gallery in Eckington Church Mr Huttons seat in the front and Mrs Hutton at the back during her natural life and at her decease my Will and mind is that the said three sittings in the said seat shall be to James French and his heirs for ever likewise I give and bequeath to my Neice Martha Taylor the feather bed which is in the Chamber over my dwelling house likewise I give and bequeath to my two brothers George Atkin and Robert Atkin all and every part of my clothes to be equally divided betwixt them and I likewise give and bequeath To my said two brothers Geo. And Robt. Atkin and my Sister Elizabeth Oats each and every one of them the sum of one Guinea of good and lawful money of Great Brittain to be paid at the expiration of twelve months after my decease all the said residue and remainder of my goods cattles chattles and personal estate whatsoever after my funeral expenses Debts and Legacies are discharged to my dear beloved Wife Martha Booth aforesaid and I do hereby revoke make null and avoid all former and other wills and publish and declare this to be my last will and Testament In Witness whereof I have set my hand and seal the seventh day of January in the 34th year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third King of Great Brittain Anno Domini 1794
