Last Will and Testament of Robert Field of Mosborough, Gentleman (1864)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Robert Field of Mosbrough in the Parish of Eckington and County of Derby Gentleman I give devise and bequeath unto my son Richard Field now living in America Five one half hundred pound shares in the Sheffield and Rotheram Bank. I give to my daughter Harriet Wright of Mosbrough aforesaid the Income of three houses situate in Mosbrough namely the house now occupied by herself and the other two severally by George Milnes and George Waller and also the Income of one share and a half in the Bank aforesaid while she lives and at her death the said houses and share and a half shall be equally divided among her six children hereafter mentioned or those children who may survive her namely Thomas Staton Robert Staton Fanny Staton Jabez Staton Eliza Jane Staton and Charles Staton. I also devise to my Eldest Son John Field now living in Hull, and to his present wife Jane Field, the Income of the Harbor Frith in Mosbrough aforesaid containing about five acres two roods and one Perch; but if my daughter in law the said Jane Field die before her husband John Field: and should the said John Field marry again the Income of the said Harbor Frith is to cease and shall be given to my granddaughter Jane Courts of Yorkshire and if the said Jane Coates does not survive her parents then the said Harbor Frith shall be equally divided among my children who may be then living namely Harriet Wright Frances Tomlinson and Richard Field I give and bequeath to my daughter Frances Tomlinson the wife of Henry Tomlinson the Income arising from twenty five shares in the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire Bank and the Interest of the said shares to her husband Henry Tomlinson if he should survive my said daughter: but if he should marry again then the said interest is to cease, and two of the aforesaid shares I give unto my Granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Tomlinson but if she does survive her mother Frances Tomlinson then her shares together with the remaining shares aforesaid shall be equally divided among my children aforesaid I also give and devise to my Son in law William Cadman Currier of Manchester the Interest arising from twenty shares in the Manchester and County Bank together with two hundred pounds sterling which I have lent him until his youngest Son has attained his majority at which time the said shares and the two hundred pounds aforesaid shall be equally divided among the said William Cadmans children or those of his children who may be then living namely Frances Harriet Cadman, Robert Field Cadman, Sanda Cadman Eliza Cadman William Cadman, and Joseph Cadman. After payment of all my just debts funeral and testamentary expenses, any surplus to be equally divided among my children aforesaid if they be then living; otherwise it shall be equally divided among my grandchildren And I hereby appoint my son in Law William Cadman and my Grandson Thomas Staton aforesaid Executors of this my last Will as witness my hand this 22nd day of October 1864

 Attestation Signed and acknowledged by the said Robert Field the Testator, as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as Witnesses James Duff William Wright Proved at Derby the thirtieth day of March 1865 by the oaths of William Cadman and Thomas Staton the Grandson the Executors to whom Administration was granted – The Testator Robert Field was late of Mosborough in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Gentleman, and died on the twenty fourth day of November 1864 at Mosborough aforesaid Effects under £2,000.
