In the name of god Amen. I Robert Bower of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby yeoman being sick in body yet whole in mynde thanks be to almighty god doe make this my last will and Testament in Manner and form following First I bequeath my Soule to almighty god who hath made me and to Jesus Christ who hath redeemed me and by whose merritts and passion I hope to be saved. And as concerning my body I bequeath it to the earth from whence it came and to be buryed in the parish churchyard of Eckington neare to my sonne (Andrew?) As concerning my goods I bequeath to Mary my wife and Elizabeth my daughter all my goods and chattalls to be full executors and to perform my will and all things the following And if my wife chance to have a child within fourty weeks after my departure I doe by these presents make it full executor with them and equall in all things Item if my wife happen to marry after my departure I doe will and bequeath unto her her thyrds of my goods Item I do give and bequeath to Dorothy Bower my Sister twenty pounds and one …… Heiffer Item I doe give a …. ….. to Mary Bower my Sister Item I doe give and bequeath to my daughter Elizabeth 1 acre of freehold land lying and being in the Singehills to her and her heires for ever Item I doe by these presents give and bequeath three poundes of lawfull Money to be put into the Constables hands by Mary my wife at or upon ………day next following after ….. ….. to the use thereof according to the Statute to be dealt (every?) yeare as aforesaid upon the feast of Goodfriday to the poore in generall dwelling and being in the Bierlow of Mosbrough aforesaid for ever and so long as this world endureth Item I do give and bequeath to Henry Bower my Uncle my best breeches Item I do give unto James Jackson my best Jerkin Item I give and bequeath to ……. ……. my workday Jerkin and Breeches and workday stockings And if my wife …… to dye within a quarter of a yeare after mee Then I doe by these presents make Edward Newbold of Mosbrough yeoman and John Billam and William Turnor of Mosbrough aforesaid yeomen supervisors to see this my last will and testament performed And if my wife ….. to survive 1 quarter of a year of me then I doo by these presents make John Billam and William Turner aforesaid supervisors of this my last will and testament Item I doe give and bequeath to John Billam and William Turner halfe a crown apiece Item I give and bequeath to George Lynaker 12d In witness whereof I the said Robert Bower have hereunto set my hand and seale the day yeare above written in the presence of these men next following
