Last Will and Testament of Richard Hobson of Mosborough (1692)

In the Name of God Amen. I Richard Hobson of Mosborough in the County of Derby and the parish of Eckentun being in good health of Body and of sound and perfect minde and Memory praise be therefore given to Allmighty God do make ordain declare and publish this my present Last will and testament in manner and forme following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of Allmighty God through the merits Death and passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ; to have full and free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins, and to inherit everlasting Life: and my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently Buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named; And as touching the disposition of all such Temporal Estate as it hath pleased Allmighty God to bestow upon me I give and dispose thereof as followeth. First I will that my Debts and Funeral Charges shall be paid and discharged by my Executors Hereafter named. Item. I give unto my Son Linal Hobson Twenty Shillings and to his three Children which is allredy borne everyone of them Twenty Shillings apiece to goo forward for the after my Decease and If any of them shall happen to dy before their age the longer Survivor to have it. Item. I give to my Daughter Ann Hobson Forty Shillings. Item I also give to my Daughter Margaret Mulins Five Pounds if it happen that … … to be put out for ye use of ye Child that is now in her womb and if it happen that the Child should Dye before it Come at ful age that my Executor shall have the disposing of it. Item I give to my Daughter Mary one Shilling and to her son Richard Forty Shillings. Item I give to my Son John Hobson one shilling the said John Hobson having already in his hand the Sum of Ten pounds which I the said Richard Hosbon is to have in trust or Consideration for ye same During my life and after my Decease the whole sume to be paid to my Executors. All the rest and residue of my personal Estate, Goods and Chattels whatsoever I give and bequeath to my Loving Sons Matthew Hobson and Thomas Hobson ful and Sole Executors of this my last Will and testament And I do hereby revoke; disannul and make void all former Wills and testamts by me heretofore made by me heretofore made; In Witness where of I Richard Hobson this Twentyninth Day of November do Declare and publish this my last will and testament In the Fourth year of their Maties Raigne King Will.
