This is the last Will and Testament of me Richard Grant of Mosbrough in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Mason I bequeath to my wife all my Household furniture absolutely. I appoint John Drabble of Mosbrough aforesaid Mason and Enoch Goodwin of Chesterfield in the said County of Derby Trustees and Executors of this my Will, I give devise and bequeath unto my said Trustees all my Real Estate and the residue of my personal Estate if any upon trust to sell the same either together or in lots and either by Public Auction or private contract and upon further trust until the same shall be sold to stand possessed of the rents interest and profits thereof and after they are sold to stand possessed of the annual proceeds thereof upon trust first to pay all my simple contract debts funeral and testamentary expenses, Second to pay the interest on any mortgage which may be charged thereon if the real Estate is not then sold or the principal of such mortgage to whomsoever the same may be payable if sold and upon further trust to pay the interest dividends and annual proceeds of my Real and Personal Estate whether sold or not into the proper hands of my said wife during her life and from and after the decease of my said wife. I direct my said Trustees to pay out of the principal of such moneys the sum of Twenty pounds to each of my sisters Mary Drabble Harriet Harrison and Elizabeth Antcliff if they shall be living at the decease of my said wife and divide the remainder of such moneys equally between and amongst such of the Nephews and Nieces of me and my said wife who shall be living at the time of the decease of my said Wife, I empower my said Trustees to invest the principal of the said moneys hereinbefore referred to upon real or leasehold securities or upon any of the public stocks funds or securities of Great Britain with power to vary the same, I empower my said Trustees to give receipts for any moneys paid to them under or by virtue of this my Will. I revoke all other Wills by me heretofore made. In Witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of November 1873.

This is a Codicil to my last Will and Testament which bears even date herewith. Whereas I have by my said Will appointed John Drabble and Enoch Goodwin my Trustees and Executors and devised certain Real Estate and Residuary Personal Estate to them & given them certain power over the same. Now it is my Will that Joseph Lockwood of Mosbrough aforesaid Mason shall be a Trustee and Executor of my will along with the said John Drabble and Enoch Goodwin and I will and direct that my said Will shall be read and construed as if the said name of Joseph Lockwood had originally been inserted in the said Will along with the said John Drabble and Enoch Goodwin. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this fourteenth day of November 1873.

Proved at Derby, with a Codicil, the 9th day of December 1873 by the Oaths of John Drabble, the Nephew, and Enoch Goodwin the Executors named in the Will, and Joseph Lockwood the Executor named in the said Codicil to whom Administration was granted The Testator Richard Grant was late of Mosbrough, in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Mason, and died on the 15th day of November 1873 at Mosbrough aforesaid Effects under £100.
