Last Will and Testament of Richard Abney of Mosborough, husbandman (1615)

In the name of god Amen the fifth day of January in the yeare of our Lord god 1615 I Rycard Abney of ye psh of Eckington in the countie of Derby husbandman sick in bodie but whole minde being of good and pfect memorie thanks be to god for the same do make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following first and principallie I commend my soule into the hands of Almighty god my maker and Redeemer and my body to be buryed in the churchyard of parish church of Eckington And by the passions and blood of Jesus Christ I trust to be made ptaker of his blessed eternall and everlasting kingdome Item I give and bequest unto Anne Abney my eldest daughter forty shillings in full satisfaction of her portion or thirde parte Item I give and bequest unto Chatherine Abney my second daughter forty shillings in full satisfaction of her portion or thirdes parte Item I give and bequesth unto Elizabeth Abney my wife and Anthonie Abney my sone all the rest of my goods to be equally divided between them ….. the said Anthonie shall come to the age of one and twenty years And yf yt happen that the said Anthonie my sone departe the world before he shall come to the full age that ….. all my goodes to be divided between Elizabeth my wife and Anne and Catherine my daughters And yf Elizabeth Abney my wife fortune to marry at anie tyme after the decease of Richard Abney her late husband to anie other man then the said Elizabeth Abney my wife shall have six poundes sixteen shillngs and four pence in full satisfaction of her portion And my sone Anthonie Abney to have all the rest of my goodes Item I give and bequeath unto Peter Tomson my kinsman ijs Item I give and bequeath unto Rychard hardwick my godsonne xijd Item I give and bequeath unto Anne Abney and Catherine Abney my daughters one haffer calfe to be divided betwixt them paying for the same ijs to peter Tomson and xiid to Richard hardwick Item the rest of my goodes my dutyes paid and my funeral expenses discharged I give and bequeath unto Anthonie Abney the rest of all my goods and do ordaine constitute and make him executor of this my last will and Testament Item I ordain constitute and make Anthonie Tomson supervisor of this my last will and testament not doubting but that he will see the same performed according to my true meaninge as my sure trust yt in him In Wittnesse whereof I the sayd Richard Abney to this my last will and testament have putte my hand and seale the daye and yeare above written.
