Last Will and Testament of Michael Burton of Mosborough, gentleman (1695)

In the name of God Amen I Michaell Burton of Mosbrough in the parrish of Eckington and County of Derby Gent being sound of mind and in perfect memory praised be God for the same this Fifteenth day of February in the Eighth yeare of the reigne of King William the Third over England Anno Dom 1695 doe make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following Whereas I the said Michaell Burton stand seized of one messuage and outhouses together whatsoever all Landes Meadowes pasture and Groundes in Cartledge in the Mannor of Dronfield in the parrish of Dronfield and have surrendered the same to the use of my last will Now by this my last Will and Testament I give and devise the said Messuage Outhouses and all the Landes Meadowes pastures and grounds thereunto belonging or reputed or taken to belong thereunto unto my deare Sister Susannah Burton and her heirs Nevertheless upon spetiall trust and confidence to the uses intents and purposes hereafter in ……. inshrined and contained that is to say That shee the said Susannah Burton or her heires shall soe soone as she or they conveniently ….. after my decease pay out of ye money which shall bee raised out of the proffites and sale the said Messuage Landes and Premisses pay and discharge all my debts funerall charges and Legacies hereafter mentioned I give and bequeath to my Brother John Burton forty shillings to be paid him within six monthes next after my decease I give unto my Brother Thomas Burton forty shillings to bee pyd him within six monthes next after my decease I give and devise to Mary Rippon of Mosbrough the sume of six poundes towardes putting forth to some trade or calling Item I give unto George Bird ye sume of six poundes for the putting him forth to a trade when he is fitt for itt I give to Richard Newton five shillings and to Mary Newton five shillings Item I give unto my Sister Dorothy now wife to Mr Marmaduke Carver one Moiety or halfe part of the money which shall be raised by Sale of ye messuage and Landes aforesaid after the debts funerall charges and Legacies are taken out and deducted nevertheless upon this condition that her husband shall not have any thing to do in ye same or to dispose of any part thereof Item I give unto my said Brother in Law Mr Marmaduke Carver the sume of fifteen poundes I give unto his sonn Marmaduke Carver Seven pounds and Ten shillings And I doe hereby make and appoint my said Sister Susannah Burton sole executrix of this my last Will revokeing hereby all former or other Wills by me made either in writeing or by word of Mouth Item I give Deborra Sales Ten shillings In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hande and seale the day and yeare above written
