Memorandum that on or about the 8th day of Jan’y In the 20th yeare of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord Charles the 2nd by ye Grace of God of England Scotland France and Ireland King defender of the faith 1668 Mary Newbold of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby widow being sicke and weake in body but of perfect mind and memory did make and declare her last will and Testament in manner and forme following (or to ye same effect) viz Imprimis Shee bequeathed her Soule into ye hands of Almighty God, from whom it had its being, and her body to bee buried in ye parish church or churchyard of Eckington aforesaid att ye discretion of her friends Item Shee gave and bequeathed unto her Sonne Thomas Newbold five shillings Item Shee gave and bequeathed unto Elizabeth Newbold her Grandchilde Tenn shillings Item she gave and bequeathed to Anne her daughter twenty shillings Item she gave and bequeathed unto Anne ……. her Grandchilde Tenne shillings Item Shee gave and bequeathed all ye residue of her goods cattells and chattells whatsoever to John Newbold her Sonne appointing him ye said John Newbold her said Sonne to bee her Sole Executor. And did then revoke ….. null and make void all former will or wills by her made in the presence and hearing of diverse credible witnesses.
