Last Will and Testament of Mary Keeton of Mosborough (1865)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Mary Keeton of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington in the County of Derby. I direct that my funeral expenses shall be paid out of the monies which will become due and payable to my executor on my decease from the Ridgeway Funeral Club of which I am a member, and I bequeath the surplus of such monies (if any) to my daughter Elizabeth Keeton, to whom I also bequeath part of my household furniture namely Four Hair sealed Chairs, Sofa, Floor Carpet, Fender and Gas Fittings absolutely. I direct that the remainder of my furniture the residue of my personal estate Stock in Trade and Book debts be disposed of by my Executor as hereinafter named and the amount to be realized therefrom after is payment of my Testamentary Expenses thereout be equally divided amongst my children, namely, William Keeton, Edwin Keeton & Henry Keeton, Mary the wife of George Wade, Frederick Keeton, John Keeton, Mark Keeton, Hannah the widow of John Johnson Whittaker deceased, Charles Keeton and the said Elizabeth Keeton I appoint Robert Fanshaw of Eckington aforesaid to be sole Executor of this my Will. As witness my hand this thirteenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty five

Signed by the said Testatrix as her last Will and Testament, in the presence of us, present at the same time who, at her request, in her presence, and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses – Robert Fanshaw Ruth Staton .

Proved at Derby the 1st day of August 1871 by the Oath of Robert Fanshaw the sole Executor to whom administration was granted. The Testatrix Mary Keeton was late of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Widow, and died on the 9th day of April 1868, at Mosbrough aforesaid.
