Last Will and Testament of Lyonell Hobson of Mosborough, tailor (1657)

In the name of God Amen the second day of March in the year of our Lord God 1657 I Lyonell Hobson of Mosbrough in the prsh of Eckington in the county of Derby Taylor weak in body but of good pfect remembrance, I praise god therefore do ordaine and make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following: ffirst and principally  I comitt my soule to god in the meritts obedience and satisfaction of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer; and my body to the Earth to be buryed at the discretion of my friends. And as touching my wordly goods and estate I dispose thereof as followeth. Ffirst I give and bequeath to Margrett my wife All that my dwelling house and the buildings thereto belonging together with the Croft belonging to …. During her natural life wherein I now do dwell And I give unto the said Margrett All the household goods in my said house likewise during her life, And One Cowe and six sheep all in lieu of her third part of my personal estate. Also I give unto Richard Hobson my youngest sonne xiid in full satisfaction of his pt or portion of my personal estate, and to every one of his children xiid apiece. All the rest of my goods chattells and credits not before given or bequeathed, I give devise and bequest to James Hobson and Phillipp Hobson my two sonnes, and my household goods given to my margrett my wife I give unto the said James and Phillipp after my said wives decease And I ordain and make the said James Hobson and Phillipp Hobson executors of this my last Will and do declare the same so to be in presence of
