In the Name of God Amen I John Story of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Husbandman being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling to mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my last will and Testament. That is to say principally and first of all I Give and recommend my Soul into the hands of God that gave it and for my body I recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian-like and decent manner at the Discretion of my Executor nothing doubting but at the General resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I Give Devise and Dispose of the same in the following Manner and form Imprimis I Give and Bequeath after my Decease unto my Son Thomas Story the Sume of five pounds of good and lawful Money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son John Story the Sume of two pounds of Good and lawful money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Henry Story the Sume of five pounds of good and lawfull Money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son William Story the Sume of five pounds of good and lawfull money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Story the Sume of ten pounds of good and lawfull money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Robert Story the Sume of five pounds of good and lawfull Money of England and further my will and mind is that the aforesaid shall receive their Legacies as soon as they shall arrive to the age of twenty and one years and all the rest and remainder of my Estate and personal Estate whatsoever mine in both Quick and dead I Give and Bequeath unto my Beloved wife (viz) Mary Story after my decease I likewise Constitute make and ordain my Beloved wife Mary Story Sole and only Executor of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby disallow ….. all other will or wills heretofore by me made and no other to be my last will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the twenty fifth Day of October Anno Dom’ 1729
