This is the last Will and Testament of me John Cadman of the Oxclose Farm in the parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Farmer I bequeath unto each of my daughters Sarah the wife of Watkin Fawcett Ann the wife of John Baker, Anna the wife of William Green, Charlotte the wife of William Turner and Mary the wife of Daniel Fletcher the sum of Fifty pounds such legacies to be an interest vested in them and immediately ………….. but not to be paid to them and without interest thereon until the expiration of two years from my decease unless my Executors hereinafter named shall think fit to make an earlier payment I also bequeath the sum of Fifty pounds to be equally divided between the eight children of my late son John Cadman deceased, namely, George, Martha, Herbert, William, Mary, James, Thomas and Emma to be vested in or paid to them (but without interest in the meantime) on their severally attaining the age of twenty one years of age and in case any of my said grandchildren shall die under the age of twenty one years and unmarried then as well his or her original share as the share or shares accruing to him or her under this cross executory trust shall go over for the survivors or survivor of them to be equally divided between them if more than one and to be paid at the same time as their original share or shares are hereinbefore directed to be paid I bequeath the residue of my personal estate unto my Son Charles Cadman absolutely And I appoint my said Son Charles Cadman and my said son in law Watkin Fawcett to be executors of this my will Lastly I revoke all former and other Wills by me at anytime heretofore made In Witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this seventh day of February in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty eight – John Cadman – Signed by the said Testator as his last Will and Testament in the presence of us, present at the same time, who, at his request in his presence, and in the presence of each other, have subscribed our names as witnesses – Alfred Alderson Solr. Fanshaw Jun. his clerk Proved at Derby, the 2nd day of April 1869 by the Oaths of Charles Cadman the Son, and Watkin Fawcett the Executors to whom administration was granted The Testator John Cadman was late of Oxclose Farm in the Parish of Eckington in the County of Derby Farmer, and died on the 20th day of June 1868, at Oxclose Farm aforesaid effects under £450.
