Last Will and Testament of John Bradshaw of Mosborough, maltster (1785)

This is the last Will and Testament of me John Bradshaw of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Malstor First my will and mind is and I do hereby direct that all my just Debts Funeral Expenses and the Expenses of proving this my will be paid by my Executors hereinafter named I Give and bequeath unto my dear Wife Mary all my household Furniture, Stock of Cattle and Farming Utensils for and towards the maintenance and Education of my younger Children William, Thomas, Elizabeth, Mary and Benjamin and until the Legacies hereinafter given by me to them shall become payable. I also Give and devise unto my said dear Wife Mary All that my Copyhold Estate situate upon Mosbrough Green, consisting of a Dwellinghouse and Malthouse To hold to her my said Wife Mary and her assigns for and during the term of her natural Life, impeachable for waste, for and towards the further maintenance and Education of my said younger Children and until the Legacies hereinafter given and bequeathed by me to them shall become payable, and from and after her Decease I Give and devise the same Dwellinghouse and Malthouse with their appurtenances (subject to and charged and chargeable with the payment of the several Legacies hereinafter charged upon the same) unto my Son John Bradshaw his heirs and assigns for ever And I do hereby charge my said Dwellinghouse and Malthouse with the payment of the Legacies of Fifteen pounds apiece to my said younger Children William Thomas Elizabeth Mary and Benjamin when and as soon as my youngest Child living at the death of my said dear wife shall attain the age of twenty one years, and in case one or more of such younger Children shall happen to die without issue before that period, then and in such Case I will and direct that the share or shares of him her or them so dying shall be equally divided between and amongst the Survivors and Survivor of my said younger Children, Share and Share alike. I also will and direct that, in Case my said dear Wife shall happen to die in the minority of any of said younger Children my son John Bradshaw shall pay and apply the rents and profits of my said Copyhold Estate for and towards the maintenance and Education of my said younger children and until they shall arrive at their several and respective ages of twenty one years. I Give and devise unto my said Son John Bradshaw and to his heirs and assigns for ever All that my Close of Freehold Land situate in Killamarsh Lane, containing about Five roods and called the ShortButts. All the rest residue and remainder of my personal Estate whatsoever, wheresoever and of what nature or kind soever I give and bequeath to my said Son John Bradshaw his Executors Administrators and assigns and appoint him sole Executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made and do declare this to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said John Bradshaw have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Sixteenth day of april in the year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and Eighty five.
