Last Will and Testament of Hannah Fox of Mosborough (1785)

This is the last Will and Testament of me Hannah Fox (formerly Hannah Staton widow) now the wife of Samuel Fox of Mosbrough in the County of Derby Yeoman: Whereas Timothy Bolsover late of Mosbrough aforesaid did in and by his last Will and Testament dated the twenty ninth day of April 1757 Give and devise unto his Son in Law William Staton (my late husband) and unto me the said Hannah Fox (by the name and description of his daughter Hannah Staton) His Messuage and Croft in Mosbro’ aforesaid together with all rights members and appurtenances and to the Survivor of them the said William Staton and Hannah Staton for Life and the Remainder to the Children that sho’d Then be borne of the body of me the said Hannah to be divided amongst them by such parts and portions and in such manner as such Survivor as aforesaid by his or her last Will and Testament should direct and appoint as by the said Will relation being thereto had may appear and whereas the said Messuage and Croft has been since divided and do now consist of two separate Dwelling Houses, a Butcher’s Shop and the aforesaid Croft Now I the said Hannah Fox under and by virtue of the said recited power and of all other powers and Authorities whatsoever do hereby Give devise and bequeath All that Dwelling house or Tenem’t in Mosbro’ aforesaid now in the possession of George How unto John, Samuel and Hannah, sons and Daughter of my late Daughter Mary Heaton and to there Haires and assigns for ever. And I do Give devise and bequeath all that other Dwelling house or Tenement in Mosbro’ aforesaid now in the possession of George Brown and all that Butcher’s Shop in Mosbro’ aforesaid now in the possession of Stephen Fox and all that Croft or parcel of Land now in my own possession together with there and every of there respective appurt’s unto my dau’r Hannah the wife of George Mullins of Mosbro’ aforesaid Farmer and to her Hares and assigns for ever And I do hereby revoke all former Wills by me made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testam’ In Witness whereof I the said Hannah Fox have hereto set my hand and Seal the third day of November 1785.
