Last Will and Testament of George Booth senior of Mosborough, Farmer (1705)

In the name of god amen I George Booth sen. of Mosbrough in ye p(a)rishe of Eckington in ye County of Derby ffarmer being weake and infurme in body but of good and perfect memory praised be god for it …… therefore considering ye futility and imortalitie of this p’sent humane life do make and ordaine this my last will and testm’t in manner and forme following ffirst and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god hopeing through the merits of Jesus Christ to have free remission of all my sins And by body I comitt to ye earth from which it came to be decently buryed at the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as for my temporall and worldly estate I give and bequeath ye same as followeth ffirst I give and bequeath unto George Booth my son ye sum one shilling – to be payd to him by my Executrix within one whole yeare after my decease in full satisfaction whatsoever of all dues legacies and demands whatsoever Also I give and bequeath unto Ann Booth my daughter the sume of ffive pounds to be payd to her within one whole year aft my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Jonathan Booth my son ye some of one shilling to be payd to him within one whole year after my decease Item I give and bequeath unto Ellen Booth William Booth and Elizabeth Booth my three younger children the sume of ffive pounds apiece Item all the rest and residue of my personall estate goods and chattells I give and bequeath unto Elizabeth Booth my loving wife whom I make sole Executrix of this my last will and testam’nt and also my mind and will is that in case my said wife marry again then she shall forthwith pay unto William Booth my son the full sum of Twenty pounds And I revoke all former wills heretofore made by me In witness thereof I have hereunto putt my hand and seale this seventeenth day of May Ano Dom 1705
