Last Will and Testament of Francis Lindley of Mosborough, butcher (1730)

In the Name of God Amen I Francis Lindley of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Butcher being sick and weak in Body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind the Mortality of my Body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and Ordaine this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally and first of all I Give and Recommend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and for my Body I Recommend it to the Earth to be Buried in a Christian-like and Decent manner nothing doubting but at the General Resurrection I shall receive the Same by the Mighty power of God and as touching such Worldly Estate whereas it hath pleased God to bless me in this life with I Give and Dispose of the Same in the following manner and form Imprimis I Give and Bequeath after my decease unto my Daughter Anne Lindley the Sume of Twenty pounds of good and lawful Money of Engand Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Lindley the Sume of Twenty pounds of good and lawfull Money of England Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Hannah Lindley the Sume of Twenty and five pounds of good and lawfull Money of England Item I Give and Bequeath all the rest and remainder of my personal Estate Money Good Quick and Dead whatsoever mine unto my Beloved Wife Anne Lindley whome I do likewise Nominate Constitute and Appoint Sole and only Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and further my will and mind is that all the afores’d Legacies shall be paid by my Loving Wife Anne Lindley Executrix of this my Last Will and Testament unto the afores’d Children but if it happen that any of them die before they receive what is by Will given to them then it shall be to and for the Survivors of them to be equally dealt amongst them And I do hereby utterly Revoke and disannul all other and former will of wills heretofore by me made and no other but this to be my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal Feb 21st 1730
