Last Will and Testament of Francis French of Mosborough, yeoman (1729)

In the Name of God Amen I Francis French of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and in the County of Derby Yeoman being in indifferent good health of Body and also of perfect mind and memory blessed be God for the same do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it hopeing through the Merits of Jesus Christ my Saviour and Redeemer to Receive free pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and I commit my Body to the Ground from whence it came to be Buried decently at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named and after my decease I Dispose of my worldly Estate and goods as followeth Imprimis I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Anne Lindley one half Acre in the Singols and the Croft at the Town head containing by Estimation one Rood be the same more or less Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Anne Lindley A House and all the Outhousing thereunto belonging and the Croft and the Garden and all the Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging lying and being at Netherthorpe in Killamarsh to her and her Heirs for ever Item I Give and Bequeath unto Francis French the Son of my Son Francis French deceased (viz.) my Gran child which now dwelleth with my Son Francis Lindley the House wherein I now dwell and all the outhousing belonging to the same and also the Gardens Orchards folds thereto belonging or adjoining with all the Premises and Appurtenances thereunto belonging and also the Land belonging thereto being in the Meadow or Meadows both of free Land and Coppy hold Land and also two Acres of Land in the Ridgway field be the same more or less to and for the said Francis French and his Heires and further my Will and mind is that if it happen that the said Francis French to die without an Heir or Heires that all the aforesaid Lands and House which is by this will Given or left to the said Francis French shall then be to and for the Daughters of my Daughter Ann Lindley aforesaid (viz.) Ann Lindley Elizabeth Lindley and Hannah Lindley to be Equally divided amongst them or to which of them shall be living Item I Give and Bequeath all my Personal Estate Goods Quick and Dead money whatsoever mine is and the good will of the Land which I Rent of the Rector of Eckington and of Thomas Stones Esq to and for the said Francis French and his Heires Item I Give and Bequeath unto Hannah Jarvis Daughter of John Jarvis of Mosbrough the Sume of five pounds of good and lawfull money of England to be paid at the end of twelve months after my decease to be paid into the hands of Margaret Wakefield to be put out to Use for the sd Hannah Jarvis till she arrive to the Age of twenty and one years then to be paid to the said Hannah Jarvis with the Interest but if it happen that she die before she arrive to the Age of twenty and one years then my will and mind is that it shall be to and for the rest of her Brothers and Sisters to be equally divided amongst them Item I Give and Bequeath unto John French and Elizabeth French Son and Daughter of my Son John French deceased Each of them the sum of one pound of Good and lawful Money of England to be paid at ye end of twelve months after my Decease And I do Nominate Constitute and Appoint Francis French aforsd (viz.) my Gran child Sole and only Executor of this my last Will and Testament and further my will and mind is that the sd Francis French Executor of this my last Will and Testamt shall pay and discharge all Legacies hereinmentioned and my funerall Charges and all Debts which I owe with a Note that I have given to Anne Granger for the Sume of Twenty Pounds which I now stand indebted to her for and if the said twenty Pounds be not paid betwixt the Date hereof and my Death And I Do hereby revoke all other will or wills formerly by me made and I do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal the twenty fifth Day of April and in the second year of the Raigne of our Soveraigne Lord King George the Second by the Grace of God of great Brittaine &c. Anno Domini 1729
