Last Will and Testament of Esther Ellis of Mosborough, widow (1715)

In the name of God Amen I Ester Ellis now of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby Widow being weak of Body but of sound and disposing mind and memory praised be God do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and forme following First being truly penitent for my sins and hopeing for forgiveness through the mercy of God and merits of my blessed Redeemer I commend my soul to Almighty God and I commit my Body the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executors hereafter named And as for that Temporall Estate which God hath given me I dispose of the same as followethe Item my minde and will is that my Executors hereafter named shall dispose of the issues and profitts of all my estate for the benefit education and maintenance of my son William Ellis till he shall arrive at the Age of one and twenty years or be married And when he shall arrive at the age of one and twenty years or at the time of his marriage my mind and will is that my said Executors shall pay to my said son William Ellis all the principall of my estate But if my said son William Ellis shall dye before he attain the age of one and twenty years or be married than I give and Bequeath all my said estate to my dear sister Anne Creswick and her children Lastly I give and bequeath to my Brothers in Law Thomas Creswick and James Bradley of Eckington aforesaid yeoman each of them Ten shillings and I do hereby make and appoint the said Thomas Creswick and James Bradley Executors of this my last will and testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifteen
