The Last Will and Testament of me Ann Gray of Mosbrough in the Parish of Eckington and County of Derby and second Wife of John Gray of the same place (agreeable to a Marriage Article of Agreement made and executed on or about the thirtieth day of July in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred and eleven) Made the fifth day of June in the Tenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Fourth by the Grace of God King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland Defender of the Faith and in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred and twenty three
First my Will and mind is and I order and direct that my Executor hereinafter named do pay or cause to be paid out of the Money which is vested in the Hands of my Dear Husband, the several sums herein next after mentioned, that is to say, The John Sheard’s Widow of Bowling Iron Works, Hannah Wood of Leeds, George Sheard of Bowling Iron Works, Mary Ingham of Bowling Iron Works likewise Joseph Burton of Newmiller Dam all in the West Riding of the County of York the sum of Twenty pounds each of Lawful English Money, I also give unto John Forge of Wentworth in the County of York the sum of Ten pounds of like Lawful Money, to my God-daughter Ann Mullins of Mosbrough in the parish of Eckington and County of Derby I give the sum of Five Pounds to Martha Jenkinson of Kimberworth and Ann Wilkinson of Denby both in the County of York I give the sum of Twenty Pounds each, to Mary Hand of Sheffield in the County of York and her two children I give the sum of Twenty Pounds to be divided equally between them, to Mary Woodhead and Ann Hague of Birchwith and Samuel Hoget of Sheffield all in the County of York I give the sum of Twenty pounds to be divided equally among the said Mary Woodhead Ann Hague and Samuel Hoget share and share alike to Joseph Hirst of Stockport in the County of Chester I give the sum of Twenty two pounds and ten shillings and to John Hirst’s Widow of Swawell in the County of York I give the sum of Twenty two pounds and ten shillings All which said several sums of Money to be well and truly made by my Executor at the expiration of twelve calendar months after the decease of my dear Husband John Gray if he survives me, and the like payments to be made if I should survive him at the expiration of twelve calendar months after my decease And I further order and direct that the expense of proving this my Last Will and Testament and other incidental matters be discharged first before any Legacy or Legacies be paid and if any surplus remains over and above after the several Legacies and expenses are paid I give the same to my Executor, and my Executor will receive from my Dear Husband’s Executors the sum of Two Hundred and fifty pounds of Lawful English Money to pay the several Legacies and expenses herein directed to be paid. And lastly I hereby constitute and appoint Joshua Byrom of Wentworth in the County of York Gentleman his Heirs and Assigns Executor of this my last Will and Testament revoking and making all other Will or Wills by me heretofore made null void and of none effect, and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament contained in one sheet of Paper In Witness whereof I the said Ann Gray the Testatrix have set my hand to the first and second page and my hand and seal to the third and last page of this my last Wiil and Testament the day and year first before written
